    Which services does JobRad offer?

Every JobRad is automatically covered by comprehensive insurance, including mobility guarantee. Whether it's a flat tire, worn-out brake pads, or a damaged bicycle chain – especially with frequent use of the bicycle, wear and tear are inevitable. The JobRad insurance partner provides an annual budget for wear and tear repairs.

Why is JobRad cheaper than a direct purchase?

The savings result from various factors. The non-cash benefit 'company bicycle' has been tax-free in Austria since 2020 and does not constitute a taxable benefit. As of January 1, 2023, this non-cash benefit reduces the contribution base for social security contributions (provided that JobRad users do not earn above the maximum contribution base) and reduces monthly payroll taxes. The conversion rate additionally reduces the taxable income. If the company is entitled to deduct input tax, employees also save the value-added tax. If employers decide to cover a portion of the monthly costs, the savings for employees are further increased

How does the JobRad model work?

Employees can choose their individual company bike from Propain within the approved budget provided by their employer. The employer acts as the lessee and provides the bike to the respective employee for use. An assignment agreement governs the use of the company bike for 36 or 48 months, depending on the selected term

What distinguishes a JobRad from a conventional bike?

The bike itself doesn't differ; it's the ownership arrangement that sets it apart. A company bike from JobRad is a bike that an employer leases from a leasing provider for a specific period and provides it for their employee's use - for commuting to and from work and in everyday life. A JobRad can be any type of bicycle or e-bike (up to 25 km/h) from any manufacturer or brand. Furthermore, insurance is mandatory for all JobRads. With the included insurance package, which consists of comprehensive insurance including mobility guarantee and wear-and-tear fee, both JobRads and JobRad riders are reliably protected throughout the entire leasing period.

How is the taxation calculated after the end of the lease?

Since the transition of the bicycle into the private ownership of the employees results in a taxable benefit, the difference between the market value and the purchase price at the end of the lease must be subject to taxation. To calculate the market value, JobRad's calculation uses 80% of the book value, based on a depreciation period of 5 years, including the applicable value-added tax.
