How long do I have warranty or guarantee on the frame?

We develop our bikes for the highest quality, durability, and reliability. Therefore, you receive a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty on PROPAIN frames in addition to the statutory warranty.

Statutory Warranty and Voluntary Manufacturer’s Warranty

For all PROPAIN frames, the statutory warranty of 2 years applies.

In addition, we grant the first buyer a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty:

Frame Material Total Warranty Period (including statutory warranty)
    Aluminum Frame 3 years
    Carbon Frame 5 years

The warranty begins with the invoice date and applies to all PROPAIN frames from model year 2016.

The statutory warranty remains unaffected by these warranty conditions. Additionally, our General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply. In case of discrepancies between these warranty conditions and the GTC, the provisions of the GTC shall apply.

    Who Can Claim the Warranty?

A warranty claim exists only if all the following conditions are met:

    • The bike or frame was purchased new from PROPAIN or an authorized dealer.

    • You are the first buyer of the product.

    • The bike was used as intended.

    • The damage occurred within the respective warranty period.

    • The original purchase receipt or order confirmation can be presented.

The voluntary manufacturer’s warranty is non-transferable and expires upon resale of the product.

What is Excluded from the Warranty?

The following are excluded from the voluntary manufacturer’s warranty:

    • Paint, anodizing, and decals

    • Bearings and bearing housings

    • Wear parts

    • Lubricants

    • Shock absorbers and dampers

    • Wheels

    • Brake and shifting components

Furthermore, there is no warranty claim for damages caused by falls, accidents, improper use, lack of maintenance, or unauthorized modifications.

How Do I File a Warranty Claim?

Processing is handled exclusively through our Customer Success team.

Please use our contact form for this purpose and include the following information:

    • Original invoice or order confirmation

    • Photo of the complete bike

    • Photo of the damage

    • Photo of the frame number (usually located under the bottom bracket)

For a newly delivered bike, we also require photos of the shipping box.

Upon receipt of your documents, our service staff will check the damage and decide on the next steps.

    How is the Warranty Fulfilled?

If a warranty claim is accepted, we will decide at our discretion whether the frame:

    • will be repaired or

    • will be replaced with an equivalent or comparable frame.

A replacement or repair does not extend or renew the original warranty period. The original invoice date remains decisive.

There is no claim for an identical model, a specific color, or identical equipment.

Please note: If a frame replacement occurs under the voluntary manufacturer’s warranty after the statutory warranty period has expired, the customer is responsible for the costs of shipping as well as the disassembly and reassembly of the frame.

Frame Protection Film: If you have applied or had a frame protection film applied to your frame, we do not cover the costs for this. This also applies if the frame is repaired or replaced under warranty.

    Wear Parts

Normal wear and tear is excluded from the warranty.

    This includes, among others:

    • Brake pads

    • Brake discs

    • Tires

    • Handlebar grips

    • Saddle

    • Cables and housings

    • Spokes and nipples

The following components have a warranty of 6 months:

    • Frame bearings

    • Bearings

    • Freehub body

    • Paint and decals

All wear parts should be regularly checked for their condition and the correct torque before each ride.

    Individual Frames and Custom Builds

If frames are sold individually or as part of custom builds, all components must be installed according to PROPAIN's technical specifications.

Deviations in, for example, fork or shock dimensions, wheel or tire sizes, installation standards, compatibilities, or assembly methods can lead to exclusion from the warranty.

    Spare Parts

Frame-specific spare parts are generally available for up to three years after production ends.

However, permanent availability of identical colors or versions cannot be guaranteed.

    Crash Replacement

Even outside of the warranty, we support our customers as much as possible through our Crash Replacement Program (CRP).

Damaged products can be replaced at discounted rates if available. However, there is no legal claim to this goodwill service.
